FAQ
Do I need an Intervals.icu account?
Optional. Link it to auto-import history and sync workouts back. Skip it and Routa runs entirely on your phone.
Do I need a wearable?
No. If a wearable feeds HRV, resting heart rate, and sleep through Apple Health or Intervals.icu, readiness uses last night's data. Without one, a single tap on how you feel.
Can Routa see workouts from my watch or Garmin?
Yes. With Apple Health permission, workouts recorded by other apps and devices flow into Routa, get a training-load estimate from heart rate, and count toward your fitness. If the same session already came in from Intervals.icu or was recorded in Routa, the copies are merged automatically — and you can split them apart again.
Do rides I record in Routa show up in Apple Health?
If you want. Turn on saving to Apple Health in the app and every finished ride lands in the Health app alongside your other workouts.
Can I put my own rides on the plan?
With Pro. Drop a ride or a library workout on any future day — the Saturday group ride, a club interval session — and the planner builds the week around it instead of on top of it: the day is locked, its load is budgeted, and hard days keep their spacing.
Is this AI coaching?
No. Readiness, workout selection, and progression run on fixed rules from training science. Same inputs, same output, and you can see which signals and thresholds fired.
What smart trainers are supported?
Any trainer that advertises FTMS over Bluetooth — most modern direct-drive trainers — for indoor ERG. For outdoor rides, connect a Bluetooth power meter.
Can I ride outdoors?
Yes. Connect a Bluetooth power meter, pick Outdoor, and Routa records power and heart rate. Turn on GPS to also map your route, speed, and distance. Rides save on your phone and upload to Intervals.icu, GPS route included. Outdoor is power-meter-based; smart trainers stay indoor for ERG.
Is Routa on Android?
Not yet. Routa is an iPhone app today.
Does Routa send my health data anywhere?
No. All opted-in health data stays on your device — including rides saved to Apple Health, which go to the Health app on your phone, never to a server. See privacy.
